Once again this year we partnered with People’s Place of Kingston, NY to help for our families this Thanksgiving. Ms. Avery of the Business & Special Education Offices successfully helped 86 families (340 people) receive a Thanksgiving feast, which included: A turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, butter, and pie.

Ellenville High School is proud to announce that two of our 2017 Graduates, Carly Craft and Zachary Alexander, were published in New Voices, New Visions, which is the "Yearly collection of the best writing at the State University of New York, New Paltz Composition Program." Carly and Zachary were enrolled in SUNY New Paltz's Composition I and Composition II (College English) with Mrs. Fagan during the 2016-2017 school year. The students will be honored at a ceremony at SUNY New Paltz in October.

The Ulster County Office of Employment and Training is pleased to announce that they are now accepting applications for their 2017 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The applications can be downloaded from their website here: http://www.ulsterworks.com/summer-youth . SYEP offers young people ages 14 to 20 years old a paid work experience for 5 weeks starting around June 26th.

The New York State Education Department made important changes to the exams last school year which greatly improved the experience that students had in taking the exams. For starters, the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests allowed students who were working productively to continue working past the minimum testing time.

The Ellenville High School Music Department presented its Autumn Concert the evening of Nov. 9. The event included performances by the Festival Choir, the Symphonic Band, the Women’s Choir, the Jazz Ensemble, and the Chamber Singers, who are conducted by David Trombley and were joined by guest violist Akiko Hosoi.
