Some of Ellenville High School's most talented students took to the stage for Ellenville Idol, a singing competition modeled after the famed television show of a similar name.

The event, a Key Club fundraiser held Friday, May 26, drew an enthusiastic crowd. The performances represented a range of genres, from country to pop to rap to acoustic folk, and a panel of judges – Ray Younger, the district’s Student Services Liaison; High School Librarian Denise Moore, and Joakim Lartey, Youth Development and Supportive Learning Environment Coordinator

critiqued the singers, offering praise, advice and constructive criticism.

Senior Molly Pidel won first place, Freshman Tatyanna King placed second, and senior Enrique Abalos took third place. The winners each received a gift card.

Alan Buckler, Operations Manager of 107.9 WELV-LP, Ellenville School District’s radio station, hosted the show.
