Section 504

Section 504 is a Civil Rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. It ensures that a child with an identified disability has equal access to a free and public education. The child may receive accommodations and modifications that protect individuals with disabilities from discrimination.

In an attempt to develop and maintain a continual child-find program, and to locate and identify eligible children under Section 504 of the Disabilities Act, the Ellenville Central School District encourages you to discuss any developmental concerns with your pediatric provider. As well, you are encouraged to share your concerns with your child's teacher and/or contact the school district Section 504 representative for consideration.
