Ellenville High School’s soccer powerhouse JoAnna Craft signed a Letter of Intent to Concordia College in front of her family, friends, and teammates in a special ceremony held Monday, April 3 in the High School Media Center.
“I want to thank my family and every coach I’ve ever had,” said JoAnna, who helped bring Ellenville to its first Sectional win in school history and, at Concordia, a NCAA Division II school, will play soccer with the Concordia Clippers. Her high school athletic career also included basketball and softball.
“Her growth as a player is really what I’m most proud of,” said her coach Matt Daum. He said that as a Freshman she lacked confidence, but soon came into her own on the field. “She’s grown into a better all-around player,” he said, adding that JoAnna went on to become “the best goal-scorer to come through Ellenville.”
JoAnna led the Blue Devils in goals for four seasons, and boasts 17 goals and 4 assists in 2016 and 58 goals, 16 assists for career.
