Letter from the Superintendent (PDF)

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As you may know, on Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. our High School students have requested to show solidarity with students across the country by participating in the National School Walkout.

Several high school students have organized a 17-minute event outside the main entrance of the High School. During this time, students will be reading the biographies of the seventeen individuals who tragically lost their lives on February 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Students who signed up to participate will be excused from class during that period of time and are expected to return to their classes promptly at the completion of the event.

We have been collaborating with the Ellenville Police Department to ensure that all participants are safe. As a result, all entrances and exits will be blocked by law enforcement from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. and closed to all traffic and visitors from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The Ellenville Police, with the assistance of the Ulster County Sheriffs Department, will have officers at the school to help enforce this campus closure.

If you have any questions, please contact the High School main office.
