Ellenville High School (EHS) is proud to announce this year’s Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. The Class of 2022 includes two former Blue Devil athletes, the 1981 Varsity Football team, and a longtime coach.

Regina Steele, a 2012 graduate of EHS, is being inducted into the Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments in Basketball. Steele finished her Ellenville career earning an impressive 1,034 points on the court.

Joining Steele in this year’s class is A.J. Borriello, a 2010 EHS graduate who has achieved Hall of Fame status for his exploits in Football and Track and Field. In Football, Borriello was voted 1st Team All-State by the New York State Writers Association his senior year. In Track and Field, he won League and Sectional Championships in the shot put, qualifying him for several New York State Championships.

The 1981 Ellenville Varsity Football team won the Mid-Hudson Athletic League Championship, was ranked seventh in New York State, and finished its season undefeated at 10-0.

Rounding out the Class of 2022 is Jack Sovak, who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame for his success as a Football coach. Sovak led the Blue Devils to back-to-back Mid-Hudson Athletic League Championship titles in 1981 and 1982, and was named the Coach of the Year by The Daily Freeman in 1981.
