Read the full letter from the Superintendent: September 14, 2020: Remote Learning Request (form attached)
Dear Parents/Guardians of 7 - 12 Grade Students:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the procedure for requesting full remote (off-site) instruction for
your child. Our current reopening plan has students in grades 7 - 12 participating in a full remote instructional
model, but plans on transitioning to a hybrid model in the late fall where students in grades 7 - 12 would report
for in-person learning on a rotating basis.
The District understands the need to provide an option for students to remain fully remote when we transition to the
hybrid model under the following circumstances:
-
your child is in the high risk category
-
your child resides with an individual(s) in the high risk category
-
and/or you are not comfortable having your child attend in-person instruction
The obligation to provide remote instruction as an alternative to in person-instruction may change as the year
progresses. Any request for remote instruction must specify the basis for the request. Additionally, if the request
is due to your child being in a high risk category or residing with someone in a high risk category, the request
should be accompanied by supporting medical documentation.
All requests for a full remote instruction option must be made no later than October 2, 2020. Requests for full
remote instruction can be made by submitting the attached form to your
child’s main office or by completing the
online request form on the District website.
Should your request for full remote instruction be granted, we will ask that your child remain on full remote
instruction for the first semester, which concludes on January 22, 2021. We understand that circumstances may change
which could result in you requesting an adjustment to this date. If circumstances do change while your child is on
full remote instruction, please contact your child’s building principal to discuss an earlier return date.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact your child’s building principal.
