Dear ECSD Families,
The importance of access to devices and broadband has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this access will remain necessary in the future. Digital equity is essential for educational equity. To serve our students, families, and educators,
it is imperative that we have, and maintain, an updated, accurate, and complete picture of the state of digital equity for each individual student. To do this, the District will survey families on an annual basis. This data will be collected
at the start of each school year and be used on an ongoing basis throughout the year to help identify specific needs and target resources and funding opportunities when they become available.
The survey has two parts. The first part consists of questions that are answered once for your household. The second part consists of questions specific to your child/children. If there are multiple K - 12 children in your home, you will be prompted
to submit responses for each child. As stated above, we are required to collect this information for each student, as each student's technology access may be different, even within the same household.
The link to this survey can be found on our District website
and Facebook page, and will also be emailed to parents/guardians who have provided their email address to the District. If you do not have access to the Internet to complete the survey, please contact our Technology Department at 845-647-0137
and we can collect your responses over the phone.

La importancia del acceso a dispositivos y banda ancha ha sido resaltada por la pandemia COVID-19, y este acceso seguirá siendo necesario en el futuro. La equidad digital es esencial para la equidad educativa. Para servir a nuestros estudiantes,
familias y educadores, es imperativo que tengamos, y mantengamos, una imagen actualizada, precisa y completa del estado de la equidad digital para cada estudiante individual. Para hacer esto, el Distrito encuestará a las familias anualmente.
Estos datos se recopilarán al comienzo de cada año escolar y se utilizarán de manera continua durante todo el año para ayudar a identificar necesidades específicas y orientar los recursos y las oportunidades de financiamiento cuando estén
disponibles.
