Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff:
Together, we are facing an unprecedented health crisis in our community, which is rapidly evolving. We will provide more information in the next few days regarding availability of student meals (breakfast and lunch) and learning activities.
While there is an executive order from the Governor about the waiver of the 180 school day requirement, school districts must first use all available emergency closing days and vacation days before a waiver will be granted. Currently, we will be closed for 10 school days as a result of the
mandated closing. Due to a very mild winter, there are currently 7 emergency closing days that will be used for the closing over the next two weeks. In addition, 3 days of the Spring Break will be lost to cover the rest of the closing days, which will be Monday, April 6th, Tuesday, April 7th and Wednesday, April 8th.
If school must be closed beyond the next two weeks, the balance of Spring Break days will be lost and the waiver will apply. More information will follow as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Lisa A. Wiles
Superintendent of Schools
