Dear Student-Athletes and Families,
First and foremost, I sincerely hope that you and your families are healthy and well!! As we are ending our 9th week of being out of our normal routines, I encourage you to be positive and mentally strong as you and your loved ones continue to navigate through this very unique time in our nation’s history.
I would like to share that the athletic department staff misses each and every one of you! We miss the daily interactions that we normally have with you in the classrooms, during practice sessions, and watching you compete in contests and meets. We encourage you to continue to be creative and find as many opportunities to stay active and maintain your overall fitness. I am aware that your Physical Education teachers have provided numerous options on how you can stay active through their google classrooms and the learning packets that have been provided for you.
To all spring athletes, I am deeply saddened that this pandemic has significantly impacted your participation in our programs. To our seniors, I am especially disappointed that you are not able to compete in the final season of your Blue Devil career. One of the greatest lessons one learns through participation in sports is how to deal with disappointment. Your experiences as an athlete have prepared you well for your future. I am assured that all of you will move forward from this pandemic and gain a greater appreciation for what you have been able to do and what you will be doing moving forward.
Due to our schools being closed, unfortunately, we are unable to host our annual Varsity Athletic Banquet. We are currently planning another method of acknowledging and recognizing the contributions of our varsity teams, athletes, and coaches. More information will be forthcoming when plans are finalized.
In closing, I am proud of all of our student-athletes and coaches for their contributions and achievements earned during the 2019-2020 school year. I am honored to serve such a wonderful group of students, teachers, and coaches in my role as the athletic director. Best wishes to each and every one of you and I certainly look forward to seeing you soon. Be well!
Yours in Sports,
Kermit Moyer
