Dear Parents/Guardians & Staff,
After yesterday’s notification that the District had a positive case of COVID-19, we were notified that an additional staff member tested positive. In addition, there have been situations where we’ve had to isolate classrooms because of students who have had COVID-19 like symptoms.
After careful consideration of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in our community and surrounding areas, we have decided to transition to full remote learning through Friday, December 11, 2020 and in-person instruction will resume on December 14, 2020 (cohort A). During this time, all staff will be reporting to the buildings.
Please note the following:
-
Monday, November 30, begins a cohort “A” week.
-
Grades K - 5 students will continue to follow the current K - 5 hybrid schedule, completely virtually. On “A” weeks, “Cohort A” in-person students will meet with their classroom teachers virtually each morning from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. “Cohort B” in-person students, as well as remote-only students, will meet with their classroom teachers virtually in the afternoon from 1:45 PM - 3:45 PM. On “B” weeks, the opposite will occur. Special area, AIS and related service schedules will be exactly the same as they are now. Wednesdays will be exactly the same as they are now.
-
Grade 6 students will follow their current schedules except will meet virtually instead of in person.
-
Grades 7 - 12 students will continue to follow their remote schedule.
We will notify you of any changes to this plan. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s main office.
Sincerely,
Lisa A. Wiles
Superintendent of Schools
