Dear Parents/Guardians,
The District is excited to announce that as part of our school improvement efforts, we have partnered with IXL Learning to provide students with personalized support in math and language arts. IXL Learning is an online program where students can gain fluency and confidence with essential math and language arts skills through fun and interactive questions and built-in support. The program offers personalized skills recommendations based on what each student has been practicing and what they are ready to learn next.
To get started with IXL, K - 12 students will be taking the IXL Diagnostic test for both math and language arts. The results of the diagnostic tests will provide teachers with valuable insight into your child’s current levels of understanding in math and language arts. Teachers will guide students through the process of accessing the IXL Diagnostic and provide them time to complete the test(s). Each test will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Students do not need to complete this in one sitting and can take a break at any time.
After your child completes the Diagnostic, the program will recommend skills for your child to practice based on what they are ready to learn. Teachers will have students complete skill recommendations weekly to keep their Diagnostic score up to date and monitor their progress. Students may go into IXL at any time to practice on their own as well. Students may access their IXL account by visiting https://www.ixl.com/signin/ellenvillesd and signing in with their District Google account. We encourage you to have your child share their IXL Diagnostic progress with you on a regular basis. To view this, have students log into their account and click on the Diagnostic tab. IXL Learning es un programa en línea donde los estudiantes pueden ganar fluidez y confianza con habilidades esenciales de matemáticas y artes del lenguaje a través de preguntas divertidas e interactivas y apoyo integrado. El programa ofrece recomendaciones de habilidades personalizadas basadas en lo que cada estudiante ha estado practicando y lo que está listo para aprender a continuación.
Para comenzar con IXL, K-12 estudiantes tomarán una prueba diagnóstico en matemáticas y artes del lenguaje. Los resultados de las pruebas proporcionarán a los maestros información valiosa sobre los niveles de comprensión de su hijo en matemáticas y artes del lenguaje. Si su hijo recibe una pregunta sobre un tema que aún no ha aprendido, puede hacer clic en la opción que indica que aún no ha aprendido esa habilidad.
Después de que su hijo complete el diagnóstico, el programa recomendará habilidades que su hijo puede practicar. Semanalmente, los maestros harán que los estudiantes completen recomendaciones de habilidades para mantener su puntaje y monitorear su progreso. Los estudiantes pueden ir a IXL en cualquier momento para practicar por su cuenta. Los estudiantes pueden acceder a su cuenta visitando https://www.ixl.com/signin/ellenvillesd y iniciando sesión con su cuenta de Google del Distrito. Recomendamos que su hijo comparta su progreso con regularidad. Para obtener esta información, su hijo debe iniciar sesión en IXL y hacer clic en la ficha de diagnóstico.
