PDF: December 16th, JS/HS Threat

Dear Families and Staff,

This afternoon, the junior/senior high school administration was notified by a student that a post was made on social media regarding a potential threat to the school.  The Ellenville Police Department was notified immediately.  A thorough investigation was conducted by the Ellenville Police Department and the Ellenville Jr/Sr High School.

The investigation concluded that there was no threat.  This afternoon's post was determined to be a repost of one made yesterday in a Sullivan County school district.

The safety of our students and staff is our primary concern.  The District would like to take this opportunity to remind parents and students that threats or comments that threaten the safety and security of our schools are taken seriously.  Appropriate consequences will be taken in accordance with the District’s Code of Conduct.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Wiles

Superintendent of Schools
