Hello parents and guardians,
Ulster County has given the District home rapid test kits to distribute to the parents/guardians of our students. Each kit contains two shallow nasal tests, which produce results in about 15 minutes. Instructions on how to administer the test are included in each kit.
The kits will be distributed the week of December 20th during arrival and dismissal to parents/guardians of walkers and those arriving by car. All other parents/guardians can come to the District office, located on Maple Avenue to pick up their home rapid test kit between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
The County Department of Health is distributing these kits to help the community slow the spread of COVID-19. Over the winter break, families can use the rapid test before gathering for the holidays and before students return to school.
Please note that at home testing kits CANNOT be used to clear students to return to school when symptomatic. The Department of Health requires a negative COVID test from a medical facility.
