Dear Parents/Guardians: Ellenville Elementary School has provided the following information on student arrival and dismissal procedures, detailed below.
Ellenville Elementary School Arrival
Arrival Procedure: It is crucial that the procedures below are followed daily to ensure that the arrival of students occurs efficiently and safely. Parents will NOT be allowed to walk their child(ren) into the building.
The arrival procedure below is subject to change to accommodate the safety needs of our students.
- Bus riders will enter the building beginning at 8:50am.
- Students will enter through assigned entry points to reduce congestion (see map below.) Monitors and/or Security will be placed at each entrance.
- Vehicle drop off will begin at 8:50am (ECSD security & EPD will assist) each morning.
- Parents/Guardians bringing their child to school must remain in their vehicles and utilize the Elementary drop-off loop. This drop off will need to be quick, so we can keep cars moving through the parking lot.
Please do not get out of your vehicle with your child(ren.)
- Walkers will be permitted to enter the building at 8:50am daily.
We strongly encourage parents to not have their student(s) come onto school grounds until the time they will be permitted to enter the building. We are unable to provide supervision outside the building until 8:50am.

Ellenville Elementary School Dismissal
Dismissal Procedure: It is crucial that the procedures below are followed daily to ensure that the departure of students occurs efficiently and safely.
Dismissal will be as follows:
- K-1 bussers/walkers/pickups will dismiss at 3:23pm.
- 2-6 pickups/walkers will dismiss at 3:26pm.
- 2-3 bussers will dismiss at 3:28pm.
- 4-6 bussers will dismiss at 3:30pm.
- Bus change requests cannot be made last minute nor on a daily basis. If a student cannot ride their scheduled route, parents will need to arrange transportation. Changes to a child’s bussing schedule will need to be requested at least seven (7) days in advance.
- Walkers will exit the doors nearest to the flagpole, and will walk up the sidewalk past the Jr-Sr High School to Maple Avenue. This is a location change from last year’s procedure. Students will be checked out by a staff member before they exit the elementary building, and will be allowed to exit without an adult escort. If you wish to meet your walker on campus, you will need to walk to campus and meet them outside the doors closest to the flagpole. There will be no parking in the main school parking lot.
- Pick-Ups will be held in their assigned room, by grade, until their name is called. Students will then exit the doors at the end of the K/1 wing. Parents will remain in their cars and use the pick up/drop off loop to proceed through the car line. There will be no parking in the main school lot. Students will be checked out by a staff member before they get into the vehicle. Please have photo identification with you when you come to pick up your child(ren).
