Section 504

Section 504 is the part of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 which applies to persons with disabilities. Section 504 is a Civil Rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. It ensures that a child with an identified disability has equal access to a free and public education. The child may receive accommodations and modifications that protect individuals with disabilities from discrimination.

In an attempt to develop and maintain a continual child-find program, and to locate and identify eligible children under Section 504 of the Disabilities Act, the Ellenville Central School District encourages you to discuss any developmental concerns with your pediatric provider. As well, you are encouraged to share your concerns with your child's teacher and/or contact the school district Section 504 representative for consideration.

Ellenville Central School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in its admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs and activities.
