Apple Crunch Day

It was a beautiful day at Ellenville Elementary for the Big Apple Crunch!

On October 24, the school held its seventh annual “Crunch” on the athletic fields under clear, blue skies. Students, teachers, and a few familiar-looking "apples" took a coordinated bite into our state's famous local fruit, generously donated by Crist Brothers Orchard.

This statewide event takes place each October, inviting students across New York to bite into a locally grown apple to celebrate the harvest season and inspire healthy, local eating. Our students enjoyed a delicious, locally sourced snack and joined communities statewide in celebrating New York apples!
