Ellenville Elementary students who completed the Principal's Summer Challenge this past season got their well-earned reward—the chance to throw a pie in Principal Nicole Ey's face!
Our principal was a great sport as our motivated students enjoyed this sweet (and messy!) moment of victory. These students spent their summer reading, exercising, building forts, making s'mores, and completing at least 15 activities from the challenge grid.
The Summer Challenge was focused on fun while also supporting learning across different subjects including literacy, math facts practice, social-emotional learning, and teamwork. From reading in creative places to building bird feeders and going on nature walks, students kept their minds active all summer long!
