Last week, elementary students participated in a powerful anti-bullying activity as part of their annual "No Place for Hate" initiative.
Students in Pre-K through Grade 3 listened to "What if Everybody Said That" by Ellen Javernick and Colleen Madden, while students in Grades 4-6 heard "Bully B.E.A.N.S" by Julia Cook. These stories led to discussions about bullying, friendship, and how students can create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Next, each student wrote a personal message on a colored strip of paper, pledging specific ways they would work to prevent bullying in their school. These individual strips were then linked together to form long paper chains—a visible symbol of the school community's united stand against bullying.
Now, colorful paper chains adorn hallways throughout the school, serving as a daily reminder of the power of standing together against bullying.
