A beautiful fall day provided the perfect backdrop for Ellenville Elementary School’s annual Big Apple Crunch celebration on October 22.

Students and staff gathered on the school field to participate in the statewide event, taking a collective bite out of fresh, locally grown apples generously donated by Crist Bros Orchards in Walden. The celebration highlighted the importance of healthy eating, locally grown produce, and supporting New York State farmers.

Adding to the festivities, a few familiar-looking “apples” joined students and staff on the field, bringing extra smiles and excitement to the occasion.

Sponsored by the FarmOn! Foundation in partnership with New York State farmers, the Big Apple Crunch is an annual initiative that encourages schools and communities across the state to celebrate fresh, local produce while promoting good nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and support for local agriculture.

The Ellenville Central School District extends its sincere appreciation to Crist Bros Orchards for its generous donation and for helping make this year's celebration a success.
