The Ellenville Central School District (ECSD) is proud to announce that Victoria Bonitz and Alen Ibric have been named the 2025 Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) Senior Scholar-Athlete Award recipients from Ellenville Junior/Senior High School. The awards, presented to two students from each school in the League, are based on academic merit and athletic performance, taking into account class rank, Varsity seasons played, letters earned, and trophies awarded.

Victoria, who ranks fourth in her class, has distinguished herself as a standout athlete, serving as captain of the Soccer, Softball, and Indoor Track teams. Her athletic achievements include being named a Section IX Class B All-Star in Softball, receiving MVP awards in both Softball and Indoor Track, and holding the school record in the 600-meter event. She has earned multiple Varsity letters in Soccer, Indoor Track, Softball, and Track and Field.

Victoria is an active member of the National Honor Society and serves as president of the Class of 2025. In addition, she participates in Drama Club and Band. Her commitment to community service includes coaching young athletes and mentoring elementary students.

This fall, Victoria will attend Elmira College, where she has committed to playing Softball while pursuing a degree in Nursing.

Alen, who ranks sixth in his class, has excelled in multiple sports, earning the title of Section IX Track and Field 2024 Champion. He served as captain of both the Soccer and Basketball teams, was named Athlete of the Month in 2025, and was selected for the 2025 MHAL National Conference All-League. He has also been part of two Basketball Division Championship teams. Alen has earned Varsity letters in Tennis, Golf, Track and Field, Basketball, and Soccer.

Academically, Alen serves as vice president of the National Honor Society and vice president of the Ulster BOCES SkillsUSA team, and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. His community service includes volunteering at local food pantries and giving presentations for BOCES and P-TECH open houses.

Alen plans to attend SUNY Ulster for two years before transferring to SUNY Cortland to complete his education with the goal of becoming a Physical Education teacher.

Victoria and Alen will be honored at the MHAL Senior Scholar Athlete Breakfast on May 29 at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, accompanied by their parents and coaches.

The ECSD congratulates Victoria and Alen on their outstanding achievements both in the classroom and on the playing field.
