Opening Day Letter for Jr/Sr High School

Dear Jr/Sr High School Families:

We hope you are enjoying the last days of summer! Our team is excited to welcome students back for what we know will be a successful and rewarding school year. We are finishing preparations and look forward to partnering with you to ensure that every student thrives academically and socially.

Bussing

For students who qualify, meaning they live 1.0 miles or more from our campus, transportation is provided by Rolling V.

If you have any questions, please contact Rolling V at (845) 647-9187. Please be patient during the first few days of school, as minor adjustments or delays sometimes occur while routes are finalized.

Expectations
  • Supplies: Classroom teachers will provide basic school supplies to students.

  • ID Tags: All students will receive a new student ID tag. Students are expected to wear their IDs every day, as they will be used for our new digital hall pass system and for safety purposes. IDs must be worn at all times while in the building.

  • Yondr Pouches: All students will receive a Yondr Pouch. Students are expected to bring their pouch to school every day. Please note that if a Yondr Pouch is lost, each subsequent pouch will incur a $30 replacement fee.  Ellenville Jr/Sr High School is an internet-enabled, personal electronic device–free school. Students are not permitted to have access to their personal electronic devices during the day.

Important Reminders
  • Daily attendance in school is crucial for your child’s success, and unless they are ill, they should be present in school each day for each of their classes. Period by period attendance will be taken, and a phone call will be made home if your student misses any of the periods during the school day.

  • Grades 7–8 must enter through the Junior High Main Lobby (Athletic Entrance).

  • Grades 9–12 must enter through the Senior High Main Lobby.

  • Lunch brought from home is permitted, but no outside vendor food deliveries (McDonald’s, Dunkin’, etc.) will be accepted.

Our staff is here to support your child’s success and well-being. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions as we begin the year. We are looking forward to an outstanding 2025–2026 school year filled with learning, growth, and achievement.

Sincerely,

Your Ellenville Jr/Sr High School Admin Team
