Ellenville Junior/Senior High School celebrated its newest Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society) members during an induction ceremony on November 5. Seventeen new members were inducted for their achievements in Spanish language study and their commitment to Hispanic culture.
During the ceremony, students lit candles and recited the induction oath, committing to devote themselves to the study of the Spanish language "in order to master it, remembering that a language can be a strong tie between persons of different origins, race, or religion."
The group also inducted two honorary members: Jr/Sr High School Principal Carl Pabón and Angelis Onis, Spanish Honor Society advisor and Seal of Biliteracy coordinator.
Congratulations to all the inductees!
