On June 15, Ellenville Jr/Sr High School celebrated the creativity and talent of its senior class at the Second Annual Arts Banquet, a dinner and awards ceremony honoring outstanding student achievement in the visual and performing arts.
The event is part of the ongoing work of the Ellenville Central School District Board of Education's Arts Committee, established to strengthen and elevate the arts across the district. This year, 13 students were honored for their accomplishments in band, chorus, fine arts, and media arts — representing the best of what our Blue Devil community has to offer.
The evening began with dinner for students and their families before moving into the awards ceremony. Twenty Music Awards were presented to students who participated in honors recitals and ensembles, NYSSMA, and other competitions and performances. Twelve Fine Arts Awards recognized outstanding skills and technique, and eleven Media and Graphic Arts Awards celebrated excellence in film, broadcasting, and graphic design.
The Board of Education's Arts Committee reaffirmed its commitment to the arts in the event program, noting that "the arts play a vital role in helping students grow academically, socially, and personally," and pledging to ensure the arts remain valued, supported, and celebrated throughout the district.
