The Ellenville Central School District would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a very Happy Thanksgiving!

On November 21, members of the Ellenville Junior/Senior High School Student Support team, along with Assistant Principal Michael Regan, went throughout the school handing out lollipops of gratitude to students, faculty, and staff. The lollipops included messages such as "We are grateful for you!" and "Keep believing in yourself!" The small gifts were proof that there is an attitude of gratitude in Ellenville!

Recently, Ellenville students and families enjoyed another free community workshop, this one titled “Practicing Mindfulness.” Held in the Junior/Senior High School Media Center on November 16, this relaxing workshop gave participants the opportunity to slow their minds and get creative—by painting! Under the direction of Olivia Ingalsbe of the Ellenville Rural Health Network, parents and children spent a peaceful hour creating fun free-style canvas paintings together, and had a great keepsake to remember this valuable family time. Take a look at their works and be sure to watch out for information about our next community workshop!

Congratulations to Ellenville Grade 11 student Riley Dechon, who plays the trombone; Grade 10 student Jack Henry, who plays the euphonium; and Grade 12 student Yadiel Roman-Martinez, who plays the flute. These three students performed beautifully in the 2023 Area All-State Symphonic Band at Wallkill High School on November 18.

REMINDER! Digital equity is essential for educational equity. To serve our students, families, and educators, it is imperative that we have, and maintain, an updated, accurate, and complete picture of the state of digital equity for each individual student. We have been collecting this data for the past two school years using an online survey as well as hard-copy surveys that were sent home with students. To ensure that our data is up-to-date, the District, in accordance with New York State requirements, will be administering its annual survey through the month of October. The results of the survey are used on an ongoing basis throughout the year to help identify specific needs and target resources and funding opportunities when they become available. For more information, including a link to the survey, visit www.ecs.k12.ny.us/o/ees/article/1274777
