Ellenville Central School District Interscholastic Athletic Handbook

Statement of Philosophy

The interscholastic athletic program is an important and integral part of the student experience and is open to all students. Through voluntary participation, the student will give time, energy, commitment and dedication to the program.  Most importantly the student must recognize the fact that participation is a privilege, not a right; and that their privilege can be denied.  The concepts of self-discipline and individual responsibility are inherent for success in interscholastic athletics.

The Ellenville Central School District is committed to creating and maintaining educational programs and activities which are free from discrimination and harassment. Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any education program or activity operated by the District.  As required by Title IX, the District does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs and activities or when making employment decisions.  Any questions or to make a Title IX formal complaint, please contact the Title IX Coordinator at kwhite@ecs.k12.ny.us   For more information see Policy 7420.
