Students working

The Ellenville P-TECH Academy’s Chapter 1 scholars recently took part in a Vex Robotics project and competition, where they had the opportunity to enhance skills in the areas of cooperation, strategy, and communication. For the project, the scholars were divided into teams and tasked with constructing a functioning robot that was able to collect recyclable bottles and cans. During the robot design phase, the scholars took on various supervisory roles, in the areas of building, documentation, and accuracy, to refine their project management skills. After creating and testing their designs, the scholars competed in a challenge against other teams to collect the most bottles and cans. "It was very cool to see how we made a box full of random pieces into an awesome robot that could pick up garbage," said scholar Osman Haque.
