On February 14, Riley Dechon, a Grade 11 trombonist, and Braelyn Peavey, a Grade 10 trumpeter, participated in "Brass Day," along with brass players from five other school districts in Ulster County. The event took place at the Mount Academy in Esopus. The students took part in master classes offered by the West Point Brass Quintet, enjoyed dinner together, and then attended the Brass Quintet Concert. The concert's grand finale was a performance of an arrangement of “Largo” by Antonin Dvorak, which included members of the West Point Quintet performing with all of the student participants. It was a great experience for the students and enjoyable for the audience!
