Fourteen of our Ellenville band students participated in the 2024 Ulster County Music Educators Association’s All-County Band Festival on March 8 and 9. Members of the Elementary Band and the Junior High School Band earned their places in the ensemble by auditioning and finishing amongst the top of the students in the county on their instruments. Members of the High School All-County Band secured their places in the ensemble by earning a top score on a Level V or Level VI New York State School Music Association solo last spring.
Mrs. Worden and Mrs. Schoonmaker would like to congratulate the students listed below on being selected for this honor, and for their continued effort to prepare for a long weekend of music making with the best band students in Ulster County. The festival ended with each band playing wonderful performances at New Paltz High School.
Our Elementary All-County Band members were: Alexa Dupont, clarinet; Samantha Porter, clarinet; Kylee Moreno, bass clarinet; Charlotte Zelinsky, alto saxophone; Myla McQuillan, alto saxophone; Emilia Sousa, baritone saxophone; Wesley Mastrangelo, trumpet; and Hadley Walsh, tuba.
Our Junior High School All-County Band members were: Sophiana Jacobs, trumpet; and Matthew Henry, french horn.
Our Senior High School All-County Band members were: Yadiel Roman-Martinez, flute; Lyla Denman, clarinet; Riley Dechon, trombone; and Jack Henry, euphonium.
