Incoming P-TECH Chapter 1 Scholars got an early start to the school year during a three-day Summer Learning Experience held from August 18-20.
The program gave the newest cohort of Grade 9 P-TECH scholars an opportunity to begin building relationships, become familiar with the values at the heart of the P-TECH experience, and develop skills they will continue to use throughout the program.
Over the course of the three days, scholars participated in engaging community-building circles and activities designed to encourage collaboration, creativity, communication, and confidence.
The experience culminated in the scholars’ first Presentation of Learning, during which they shared innovative designs and reflected on their work in front of District and building-level staff members and their families.
The presentations gave scholars an early opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, communicate their ideas, and take pride in what they had accomplished together.
The creativity, courage, and confidence demonstrated throughout the Summer Learning Experience offered an exciting glimpse of what lies ahead for this newest group of P-TECH scholars as they begin their high school journey.
