The Ellenville Central School District Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce the Class of 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. This year’s class includes four outstanding former Blue Devil athletes whose accomplishments have left a lasting mark on Ellenville athletics.
Raynard Shorter is a 1988 Ellenville graduate who is being inducted for his outstanding basketball career. Shorter was named the 1988 Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) Player of the Year and the Daily Freeman Player of the Year. He remains the all-time leading scorer in Ellenville basketball history.
Joining Shorter in this year's class is Tyler O’Bryant, a 2012 graduate who is being inducted for his accomplishments in track and field. O’Bryant was a New York State Division 2 champion in the 200-meter dash in 2011 and the 100-meter dash in 2012. He also qualified for the Indoor National Championships in the 60-meter dash.
Inductee Kelly Mansell is a 1996 Ellenville graduate and a standout in cross country and track. Mansell won 11 Section IX Class C championships and eight MHAL championships. During her senior year, she was recruited by numerous colleges before continuing her running career at Bowling Green State University, where she became the first female athlete in Ellenville history to receive a Division I athletic scholarship.
Completing the Class of 2026 is Pasquale Lamaestra, a 1971 graduate who is being inducted as an outstanding multi-sport athlete. Lamaestra was the first student in Ellenville history to earn 12 Varsity letters and the first Blue Devils wrestler to be named Section IX Most Valuable Wrestler. Following high school, Lamaestra embarked on a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Marine Corps, where he also coached numerous military athletic teams.
The eighth annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction will take place on Saturday, October 17, in the Ellenville Elementary School cafeteria. Inductees and their guests will be treated to breakfast, followed by the ceremony at 11 AM.
