Today, the Ellenville Central School District community pauses to honor and remember the heroes of September 11. Let's unite to pay tribute, support one another, and embrace a spirit of compassion as we reflect on the courage and resilience of those who faced unspeakable tragedy on this day in 2001.

The ECSD is proud to celebrate Arts in Education Week! This is a national celebration recognizing the transformative power of the arts. As we in Ellenville know, the arts are not just an outlet for creativity—they’re a vital part of learning that inspires innovation, builds confidence, and helps students express themselves in ways that words alone cannot. Three cheers for the arts and the positive impact they have on our Blue Devils!

Ellenville Elementary School will be hosting a Grades 1-6 Open House on Tuesday, September 17, from 5-7 PM. This is a perfect opportunity for parents/guardians to meet their child's teacher(s) and visit their classroom. Visitors should also stop by the cafeteria, where they will be able to speak with reading teachers, special area teachers, members of the counseling team, service providers, and more.

Did you know? Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school. Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to: Reduce stress, make it easier to connect with friends and teachers, and support learning . Please contact your child's school if you need help with attendance. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year. #BeHereAchieveMore #AttendanceMatters

The Ellenville Central School District recently wrapped up its ENL Academy, a week-long immersive, community helpers field trip around Ellenville. Led by ENL teachers Adrianne Theetge and Georgia Costigan, our group of English Language Learners (ELLs) explored topics including what it means to live and work in a community; road signs and pedestrian safety; maps; theatre and library etiquette; stage production and acting; and how much gratitude we have for our librarians, post office workers, and law enforcement officers. It takes a village and we have a beautiful one! The campers had lots of fun parading around Ellenville, despite last week's rain. One one rainy Friday, the group got to "camp out" in the Ellenville library!

Ellenville Elementary School will be hosting a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Open House on Tuesday, September 3, from 4-6 PM.
