Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize and heartily thank our Ellenville custodial staff! Their consistent efforts to keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming—from classrooms to the cafeterias—help make each day run smoothly for our students and staff.
Parents: remember, it's a big job. We encourage you to remind your children to do their part by being neat around their seats, picking up after themselves, and making sure litter makes it into the proper containers. These small actions show their appreciation and help our custodians focus on the important work they do every day.
Thank you to our amazing “clean team!”

October is National Principals Month! This month, we’re celebrating our dedicated Ellenville principals, who lead with heart, inspire our school communities, and work tirelessly to help every student and staff member thrive.
Our principals do so much more than lead the school day—they build relationships, champion our students, support our staff, solve problems, celebrate successes, and help make our schools places where everyone can grow and belong.
Thank you to Ellenville Elementary School Principal Nicole Ey and Ellenville Junior/Senior High School Principals Kerri Galloway and Carl Pabón for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students and community.
We appreciate all you do—this month and every month!

A Statement from the Ellenville PTO: Today, we, the Ellenville PTO Board, feel an immense sadness over the devastating loss our community is suffering. Reverend Julius Collins was an integral thread to the tapestry of Ellenville. A husband, father, grandfather, friend, leader of faith, Vice President of our School Board, man of great wisdom, problem solver, and so much more, he left no stone unturned in his journey. To know him, was to know a deep sense of humility, strength and love. He was a strong supporter of our PTO, encouraging us to speak louder and grow stronger as a community. We will continue on, doing as he envisioned, in his honor. His warm smile and infectious chuckle will be missed tremendously, among all of his endearing and inspiring ways. We send our deepest sympathies to his beautiful family.
There will be a special meeting of the Board of Education on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 6 PM, in the Superintendent’s Office, 28 Maple Avenue, Ellenville, NY 12428, for the purpose of authorizing the District’s special counsel to file a notice of claim and take appropriate follow-up action.
Happy National PTO Appreciation Day! Today, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers who make up our Ellenville Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)! Their enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to jump in and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
From organizing special events and school celebrations to creating fun experiences and supporting our classrooms, our PTO is always finding ways to strengthen our school community. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they bring to our schools!

The new school year is officially underway, and we wanted to remind families that there may be some bus delays today and throughout the first week of school.
We appreciate your patience as students get familiar with their buses, our drivers settle into their routes, and we work to ensure that all students arrive safely at their destinations!

Please be aware that Leipold Field, which was in use for a Varsity Girls Soccer game and Varsity Boys Soccer practice, had to be cleared to allow emergency personnel to respond to a medical emergency in the community. The emergency was unrelated to the game, and none of our Ellenville students were involved.
Attention, Ellenville Central School District community: The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight, September 8, has been canceled. The Public Hearing that was set to take place tonight has been rescheduled for the next meeting on September 22.
Enjoy the long weekend, Blue Devils. We'll see you back at school on Tuesday, September 8!
