
Each month a student from the Junior High School and Senior High School Choir is selected as Musician of the Month. Students earn this title by demonstrating excellent effort, growth, achievement, and leadership in the choral music program. Congratulations to our Choral Musicians of the Month for October! Do you love all the great activities that the PTO sponsors? (Winter Wonderland, DJ’s at dances, Book Fairs, scholarships, donations to school clubs and more.) In order for all of those great things to continue, the PTO needs your support. Membership is $5 for the whole family. It includes a year membership and a back-to-school notepad. Fill out the form below and return it with your membership money to your student’s classroom teacher by November 26. The PTO's next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 13 in the music assembly room. They will be planning Winter Wonderland and would love to hear new ideas.

Attention, Ellenville juniors and seniors! Join us on a College Tour to SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday, December 4. The bus will be leaving Ellenville Junior/Senior High School at 9 AM and returning at 2:30 PM. Space is limited and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Permission slips can be picked up in the Student Support Office and must be returned by Tuesday, November 26. The Ellenville Central School District will be closed on Monday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day. Thank you to the brave men and women who have served in the United States armed forces!

Don’t miss the Ellenville Junior/Senior High School’s Autumn Concert! The musical event will take place in the school’s auditorium on Wednesday, November 6, beginning at 7 PM.

All public schools in Ulster County (including Ellenville) will release students approximately 15 minutes early on Thursday, November 7. Students will be sent home early on this day as part of an annual drill that tests the evacuation procedures of each district’s Emergency Management/Disaster Preparedness Plan. The Commissioner of Education has mandated that this drill be conducted annually in all New York State public schools. Please make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival of your children that afternoon.

Great news! Ellenville senior Sienna Thomas, who is a goalkeeper on the Girls Soccer team, was selected to the Section IX Coaches Association Class B All-Star Team. No surprise here—she recorded an impressive 212 saves this season! Great job, Sienna!


The Ellenville Varsity Football team defeated Onteora on October 26, by a score of 22-0! The Blue Devils scored 22 unanswered points in the second half. Marcus Lewis-Rivera ran the second half kickoff 65-yards to start the scoring for the team. Pedro Bonachea had a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and Kwaku Boahen scored on a 48-yard rushing touchdown. Ryan Conklin had an interception for the Blue Devils, and Austin Sahlstrom and Crystian Zelinsky paced the Ellenville defense. Ellenville is now 4-3 overall and clinched a playoff spot! The team will play this week against an opponent to be determined.

Registration is now open for Modified Winter sports! The following Modified sports are being offered this season: Modified Boys Basketball, Modified Girls Basketball, Modified Boys Indoor Track, Modified Girls Indoor Track, and Modified Wrestling. The National Honor Society will be hosting a special event honoring our veterans on Friday, November 8, from 9-10 AM, in the Junior High School cafeteria. This gathering is an opportunity for our school community to come together and express our gratitude for the service and sacrifices of our veterans. Join the Ellenville Junior/Senior High School Student Council for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday, October 26! Registration will begin at 8:30 AM in the Ellenville Junior High School lobby (Athletics entrance), with the walk around the Village starting at 9 AM. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society. Don't miss it!

Registration is now open for any Ellenville athlete interested in playing a Varsity or Junior Varsity (JV) Winter sport. The following sports will be offered next season: Boys Varsity Basketball, Boys JV Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball, Girls JV Basketball, Boys Varsity Indoor Track, Girls Varsity Indoor Track, and Varsity Wrestling. Please join the Ellenville PTO's next meeting today (October 16) at 6 PM in the Elementary School Music Assembly Room. The group will be talking about future PTO events and Superintendent Lisa Wiles will be in attendance to discuss a proposed referendum for repairs and athletic facility improvements throughout the District. Don't forget that the Ellenville Junior/Senior High School Student Support Services Department will be hosting a College Fair for students in Grades 7-12 on Wednesday, October 23. The event will take place in the Ellenville Senior High School gymnasium from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students will be able to speak directly with college admissions staff, and representatives from the military will also be in attendance.
