Ellenville Junior/Senior High School will be hosting a parent information session on the dangers of vaping called “Hidden Room” on Wednesday, March 20, from 6-7:30 PM. During the presentation, the auditorium will be “staged” to show a typical teenage bedroom, and Susan Baxter from the Ulster Prevention Council will explain to parents how to spot hidden dangers in their child’s room. You won't want to miss this powerful and informative presentation!
It’s that time of year again! The Ellenville Junior/Senior High School Student Council will be hosting its annual March Madness Basketball Tournament, with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Come out to the Senior High School gymnasium and watch the Jr/Sr High HEAT take on the Elementary SUNS on Thursday, March 21, at 6 PM. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at the Senior High School or Elementary School main offices, or by contacting Ms. Pfeffer-Burns or Tanya Allen. We hope to see you there!

Ellenville Jr/Sr HS parents/guardians should encourage their children to attend the Extended Day program. If your child happens to be struggling in a class, is in need of extra support, or would like to strengthen their content skills, this program is a great place to start. Congratulations to Ellenville flute player Yadiel Roman-Martinez for being accepted into and participating in the New York State Honor Band Symposium, which was sponsored by the New York State Band Directors Association. The symposium took place from March 1-3, at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in East Syracuse. Yadiel was one of 20 flute players from across the State to be selected for this ensemble. Yadiel performed beautifully and represented Ellenville well!
Ellenville Junior/Senior High School will be offering after-school review classes to provide additional support to prepare Grade 7 and 8 students for the New York State ELA and Math assessments. Students are invited to attend after-school review classes as outlined below (snacks will be provided!). Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences will taking place at the Junior/Senior High School on Thursday, March 7, from 5-7 PM; and on Friday, March 8, from 12:30-2 PM. As a result, Junior/Senior High School students will be dismissed at 11:15 AM on Friday, March 8.

Exciting news! Mya Chevannes, an Ellenville Junior/Senior High School student who attends the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center in Port Ewen, was among the 35 young professionals who earned medals during the 2024 SkillsUSA Regional Competition held earlier this month. The event, which took place in Goshen on February 10, consisted of timed trade, leadership, and community service contests that gave participants from all across the area the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills in 38 different work-based categories.

Last week, 2023 Ellenville graduate Amelia Benjamin reached new heights competing at the college level for the University at Albany's Track Program. At the American East Conference Championship in Boston, Amelia won the Conference Championship in the High Jump. Her jump of 5’10.75” not only clinched the championship but also set a new program record for the college. She was also named "Most Outstanding Rookie" out of all of the female competitors in the Conference, and her team won the Overall Team Conference Championship. Way to go, Amelia!
